About Me

Alicia Cook, MA, LCMHC

Hi there!

In reflection, from a very early age I've had a passion for helping others.  I can remember being on the playground in elementary school with two friends mad at each other, while I was trying to keep the peace.  Throughout my life I've felt driven to understand why we think, feel, and act the way we do.  The combination of my professional and personal experiences have given me a unique perspective of the therapeutic process.  I am familiar with both sides of the therapist/client relationship.  I strive for authenticity while also maintaining professional boundaries.  The working relationship we develop is one of the most important variables when it comes to your growth and healing.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, two daughters, and our fur baby.  I love to read (although motherhood has given me a new appreciation for Audible and podcasts).  My clients would tell you I'm never short of recommendations for outside resources.  I have been on my own conscious journey for over 15 years, which has led to deep healing and continued growth in all of my relationships.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and provide in-person and virtual therapy to adults.  I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Binghamton University in Upstate NY and my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL.
